Last year we kicked off our All Poured Out Library project where we collected books to send to Ghana to start libraries for children. Through the generosity of many, we were able to send over 1000 books to Ghana, build custom bookshelves, and establish 3 libraries and spaces for reading, learning, and fellowship. Most importantly, we were able to foster and encourage reading and learning in the lives of so many young children.
All Poured Out partnered with The Nectar Foundation, an orphanage home to over 30 children and young people in Odumase Krobo, Ghana's Eastern Region. Some of these children came to the home as small children and will remain there until they go to University. During our visit, we were able to have in-depth conversations about life, purpose, hard work and not allowing their circumstances to dictate your future. All Poured Out was able to establish a wonderful library for the children at The Nectar Foundation, where the older children have committed to reading to younger children daily!
Another reading space was created for over 50 children in the village of Woricambo in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Shea butter production and corn farming are common occupations and children there often lack basic educational necessities like books, pens, school bags and shoes but yet they are filled with contagious joy! With your support, All Poured Out created a small library where children can read books over and over and share their favorite books with each other. They have even elected a library Prefect amongst themselves to help manage the library and keep the books in order and good condition!
The children were overjoyed and their thirst for learning and reading was encouraged. To our partners, supporters and friends, you were a part of this life-changing moment so for that from the bottom of our hearts we say, "Yeda ase, Nyame nyhria wo" -- We thank you, God Bless you!
